How does the Single Trip payment work?
You will only pay once per host! The fee can be seen on the moment of the application and in your conversation with the host, but, if you decline the confirmation sent by the host or the application expires, no charge will be made and you can continue exploring other awesome opportunities.
The fee is our way to charge for connecting the traveler and the host. With it, we are able to provide you with all the attention and care you will need before, during, and after your trips — such as, matchmaking, travel support (your Travel Buddy \o/) and review system. It is what sustains Worldpackers.
When will I be charged?
The payment will only be made if and when confirming your stay with a host. In other words, only after talking and defining the details of the trip. Even though we ask for your credit card detail before the application, you can search, apply and talk to as many hosts as you wish, all for free.
Worldpackers is a platform that connects hosts and travelers to promote collaborative experiences. All logistics apart from this are on the travelers' responsability, such as the flight tickets, local transportation, visas, etc.
However, there are some benefits you can get when you exchange your skills, like free meals or free tours! Don't forget to check the host's position and see everything they are offering as additional benefits to the travelers :)
Is there any sort of refund of the Single Trip fee?
The trip confirmation configures the use of the service provided by this payment model and the only kind of refund of the amount paid for the confirmation are the credits in your virtual wallet. According to our Cancellation Policy, if you cancel your trip more than 30 days before your arrival date, we will automatically give you credits (worth the same amount you paid on the confirmation fee) which you can use for other Worldpackers trips. If you cancel your stay less than 30 days prior to your arrival date , we cannot transfer the credits :(
In case the host cancels on you, up to one day before your trip begins, you'll automatically receive U$150 in credits. We understand how much planning goes into organising a trip, and that's exactly why you can count on Worldpackers insurance to give you these credits to be used on your next trips with Worldpackers. Once your host clicks on the "Cancel" button, you'll be able to see the credits directly in your wallet.
